A mother who worked herself to the rafters to support her two sons was kicked out of her home by them so they could make millions after her husband’s death.
“Can you save her, doctor?” Todd Wilson asked the doctor who was about to perform a C-section on his wife.
“Your wife will be perfectly fine, Mr. Wilson, leave it to me,” the doctor said before disappearing into the room.

Half an hour later, Todd heard his children’s screams and knew they had arrived. The doctor had saved his wife and children, leaving a powerful impression on the simple man.
Olive, his wife, returned home with him, and they became the proud parents of their twin sons, whom they named Cole and Elijah.
The couple was uneducated; Olive left them after becoming pregnant with the twins, and her husband had always been a rancher. They lived quietly on a medium-sized ranch where Todd practiced various forms of agriculture, including animal husbandry. Having never received an education, Olive and her husband wanted nothing more for their children.
“They’re both going to grow up to be doctors,” Todd said as he held them in his arms for the first time. For him, saving another human life was a very noble profession, so his children would be none other than doctors.
Olive lived as a housewife with her husband, never wanting for anything while raising her two sons. They both worked tirelessly to ensure that their sons could become doctors.
When Todd was killed during a buffalo stampede, Olive was left to raise the two boys, who were now teenagers, on her own. Hard times quickly fell upon them, and they began receiving offers for the land from other ranchers.
To get by, Olive began working as a maid in a wealthy man’s home. It was all her skills could afford, but she was diligent at her job, keeping the entire mansion spotless as she slowly worked her way into the older man’s heart.

He liked her dedication and kindness, which made him pay her a little extra whenever he could. All the money she earned, Olive put into her savings, which she used to sponsor her children’s education.
This she did for years, until they entered university to study medicine, just as Olive and her late husband had wanted. The children did not care much about saving lives; however, they did not want to disappoint their parents, so they played along.
Things changed when they were approached by one of the rich ranchers who wanted to buy their father’s property. He filled their mouths with words that made them want the amount of money he was offering for the property, and they swallowed it wholeheartedly.
At one point, the rancher even paused in his speech to look around in disgust, making sure they could see his expression. “They could be living in luxury and not have to work for a long time with the money they’re going to get from selling us that property,” the man said.
His words had a great impact on the boys, and all they could do after the rancher left was fantasize about the life they knew could be theirs.
“We should go home and talk to Mother about this,” Elijah said to his brother, who fully agreed.
At home, they greeted their mother, but did not tell her the reason for their visit until they sat down to dinner that day.
“Mom, we have something to tell you,” Cole said uneasily. The boys knew their mother wouldn’t accept their proposal, but they were determined to get their way.

“We’ve been thinking, Mom, and we’ve decided that we want to take John up on his offer to buy the land.”
Olive’s spoon, full of soup, had stopped halfway to her mouth when she heard the statement, and there it stayed as she stood frozen, staring into her soup as if there was a war going on in it.
In reality, war was on his mind. “I will never sell this land,” he said coldly, putting his spoon back down on his plate.
“If we do it now, we’ll make a lot of money, Mom,” Elias said. “Things aren’t going well right now and we really need that money.”
“I’ll say it again, this land is not for sale!” she shouted, then got up and walked away.
“We know that Dad left the land in our name, Mom. We visited the lawyer on the way here,” Cole replied. “As such, we can decide to do with it whatever we want.”
The next day, Olive was thrown out of her house by her own children, who told her to go and stay with her brothers. However, they all turned her down when she called to ask them for the favor. They all seemed to have one excuse or another for not being able to help her. So Olive had to go to a homeless shelter.
By day, the aggrieved woman worked for the wealthy man, Mr. Williams, and at night she spent the night at the shelter, where she quickly made friends thanks to her kind personality.

It was they who helped the woman slowly heal her broken heart. She also quickly became fond of Mr. Williams, to whom she told her life story.
One day, she went to work and saw the man’s mansion full of people. Apparently, he had passed away sometime that morning, and his nurse, who had been in charge of caring for him, had called an ambulance.
Olive was saddened to lose a friend, as well as a good job. But a few days later, an expensive car pulled up outside the homeless shelter where she was staying. It was driven by a lawyer who told Olivia that Mr. Williams had left her his entire fortune. However, it came with one condition: she couldn’t share it with her children, siblings, and all those who had turned away from her.
Olive accepted the blessing and followed the man’s instructions to the letter, leaving out her children and siblings, only to spend on the new family she had formed at the shelter.
She renovated the shelter, bought enough food to last a long time, and also got medicine for the residents.
When Olive’s children later learned that their mother had become a millionaire, they asked her to share some of the money with them, but she refused, saying that it only belonged to her and her real family, those who had been by her side in her sad times.

What can we learn from this story?
- Respect your children’s calling. Olive and Todd wanted their children to be doctors, but their children had no inclination to save lives. The boys only wanted to please their parents, but over time, they would have begun to resent them for forcing them to do something they were not interested in.
- Evil never goes unpunished. The boys kicked their own mother out of the home she once shared with their late father and thought they could get away with it. Karma balanced things out by giving Olive all the riches she could ever need, proving that kindness is always rewarded.
